This weekend was a good time to take out the smaller Canon S90 camera and shoot some interesting photos. One event I photographed was the annual Apps’ family reunion on Saturday at Bird Creek Park in Wautoma. Relatives from around the state arrived with a potluck item for lunch and stories from the last year.
It is kind of a crap shoot with the food, since there is no real organization to what people bring. One year it seemed that we had mainly dessert items, while other years it was all about beans. This year was well balanced and as usual I ate way too much. The weather was great and I shot a number of photos of the interesting clouds passing by.
On the way up to my parents’ cabin on Friday I stopped by the Kwik Trip in Montello for some coffee. Less than two hours before, someone drove their car through the wall, but it was still open for business with a lot of people stopping to take photos with cell phones and small cameras.
The other two signs were shot on my way home Saturday. The Brain Freeze Ice Cream Shop in Pardeeville on Hwy. 22 seems like an interesting place. I was still full from all the food I ate at lunch, but the afternoon light was nice and I took a couple of pictures of the signs they have.
