Last Sunday the Wisconsin State Journal sent me to the Madison Mud Run at Festival Park in Verona. Ya, I don’t know why it’s called the Madison Mud Run when it is held in Verona, but it really was an interesting event. The race was a 4.6 mile event, with an obstacle course along the way. Racers had to traverse hills, tunnels, a 5-foot wall and other things that slowed everyone down. For the spectators, the end featured a large mud pit with the runners crawling under flags a couple feet over the pit making it impossible to stay clean. I’m sure there were more interesting way to photograph a event like this, but at least I was able to keep myself and my cameras clean.
